Allan Albert

As a young man Jazz Drummer Allan Albert performed with renowned vocalists like Lesley Gore, Bobby Darin, and Tommy Sands along with Jazz Pianist Steve Kuhn and Jazz Bassist Steve Swallow. He worked the Italian wedding circuit with Regent Scott for 7 years, lounges in New York, with many well-known musicians. After a major accident in 1969, he spent 4 months in a hospital, 9 months at home and almost 2 years in rehab to learn how to walk again. At that point, his music career came to a halt until he started performing again in 1995 with Randy Eckert, Hida Tonaka and Chuck Muson until damage to his legs became an issue. He endured a 41 year span of not playing.

In 2010, he started learning how to play drums all over again but right handed having to reverse his feet and mind. It was a real learning curve. So today, he’s having fun and enjoys booking gigs again. Now in his 80’s, Allan says “Life doesn’t stop. It only gets better.” He is also a proud active member of the Korean War Veterans of America, having spent 16 months in Korea.
